Frequently asked Questions
Here are some questions we are frequently asked..
What retrieve should I use when fishing with soft plastics?

I would suggest to use the 'lift and hop' retrieve when fishing with soft plastics. This is because it is one of the simplest and easiest to do. The name says it all. Once the plastic or lures has hit the bottom lift and wind in the slack line.

Is braid better for soft plastic fishing?
Yes, braid is better for soft plastic fishing because it is very thin and is made from tightly wound cotton materials. The braid is a lot more sensitive which means the angler will feel the bites a lot easier than if the main line was monofillement.
03
Should I put a leader onto the end of the braid?
Yes! It is very important to have a leader on the end of the braid. If you dont the fish would see the braid and swim away instantly. If you were to tie a jighead to braid the knot would bind up and snap! This is why we fish with a (preferably) clear monofillement leader.

What jighead do I choose?

Choosing a jighead is simple. All you need to do is consider the depth and current of water and select a jighead with to suit it. When choosing a hook size, match the hook beside the plastic and measure it against it. The hook should come out in the middle third of the plastic body.

What colour soft plastic do I choose?
Choosing a soft plastic colour is easy. All you have to do is 'match the hatch'. This means that you match the colour of your soft plastic to the colour of the food that the fish are eating. Eg. If the fish are feeding on worms choose a colour that best represents worms. This rule is the same when choosing a soft plastic.
